2006 election disastrous to national security

America lost the 2006 elections. In an era of media blitzes and 24-hour cable, Americans were swayed by the hype. The media told them that our economy is awful; in fact, we have the strongest economy in the history of our country. The media said that we are in a quagmire in Iraq; regardless of mistakes in Iraq, we are winning the war. Most importantly, the media gave unprecedented favorable stories to anti-war Democrats. I'm not blaming solely the media for the huge anti-war sentiment of voters, but they certainly played a major part.

Regardless of what caused the major losses among conservative hawks, we must look forward. And to what should we look forward? Nothing, actually.

This election cycle will have devastating consequences for our country. National Review's James S. Robbins wrote an extraordinarily insightful and unfortunately true article about what is to come regarding our national security. Read it.
