Toxic Shock: The Very Real Threat of Bio-Chemical Terror

FSM’s Toxic Shock series is our attempt to help readers grasp the reality of bio-chemical terror, or weapons of mass destruction, about which many Americans, half of our politicians and the mainstream press seem uninformed. Our first in the series deals with sarin gas. FSM Contributing Editor Adrian Morgan takes us through what is so little reported in the press.

Now Official: Mexico Running US Immigration Policy

It was a bizarre event for Americans to watch Mexican President Felipe Calderon berate President Bush for not making it easier for Mexican citizens to flee to America. Here FSM Contributing Editor Sher Zieve ponders the magnitude of this incident…and it’s not pretty.

Selling the Life of a Soldier for a Salmon: Pork Barrel Spending

Most of our representatives in Congress, particularly those on a certain side of the aisle, will point fingers at large corporations and accuse them of war profiteering. But as FSM Contributing Editor Mark Taylor observes here, maybe Congress should be pointing fingers at themselves.

Combating Nuclear Smuggling

Now we learn that DHS has missed the mark in providing a sound analytical basis for its decision to purchase a new generation of radiation detection portal monitors, which are key to our national defense. Anyone surprised? FSM Contributing Editor Jim Kouri, CPP, has the story here.

Forgotten Missionary: One of History’s Little Known Heroes

The people who risk their lives to fight for the spread of democracy are heroes, to be sure. But what about the missionaries who’ve worked to ensure the spread of Christianity, all for the betterment of those less fortunate than they? FSM Contributing Editor Sandra Carney brings one such hero to life here.

Spartan Manliness

The movie 300’s redeeming quality is its glorification of the first virtue: manliness. Hollywood critics, the cultural elite and a genderless society are not amused, and FSM Contributing Editor Luke Sheahan explains the ludicrousness of their position here.

Speech AT CPAC Conference #2

Recently, the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) was held in Washington, D.C., and most of the presidential candidates spoke (except John McCain). While the event held record-breaking numbers of people (well over 6,000), many of you were unable to attend. Consequently, FSM is pleased to bring the candidates' speeches to you, and this we will do over the course of the next several weeks. It was an educational experience to learn so much about where our most important candidates stand on the greatest issues of our time. The second in our series is the speech of Congressman Tom Tancredo (R-CO). Read his speech here.

Gathering of Eagles

Today, in Washington, D.C., anti war protestors including the recycled Jane (now known as Jihad Jane, no longer Hanoi Jane) Fonda will be out in force. Meeting them in equal force will be a Gathering of Eagles...a pro-American group of patriots who have sworn to protect our hallowed war memorials from the defacement the anti-war protestors threaten. We're not surprised by dirty tactics: the GoE web site was hacked into and destroyed, the but GoE spirit lives on.

Read about the demonstration here.

Renewing the Second Amendment

The New York Times is hopping mad about the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals’ ruling on Washington’s anti-gun statute. FSM Contributing Editor explains here why the Times doesn’t have a leg to stand on.

The Tragedy of Islamic Indoctrination In British Schools

As a Brit, FSM Contributing Editor Adrian Morgan explains why we, as Americans, are so blessed to have the “establishment clause” within our First Amendment. Without it, what has happened in Great Britain could easily happen here, and this utterly flabbergasting article reveals why the UK may indeed be the US’s biggest terror threat.

The Cost of No Border Fence

Some say the cost of the border fence is prohibitive and that’s why it is so tough to get approval for it pushed through Congress. But the FSM staff sees it differently and weighs the cost of not providing security for our nation in the form of a border fence. Read the facts here.

Anti-War Leftists Take Careful Aim, Shoot Selves In The Foot Once Again

It’s no secret that the Democrats and the rest of the anti-war Left are still upset over the “swiftboating” of their Presidential nominee in 2004. Heck, they’re not over the 500 votes and hanging chads in Florida yet, so it would be pretty foolish to expect them to get over a bigger loss four years later – especially when such a large part of it (in their minds) stemmed from some squeaky-wheel veterans who just wouldn’t shut up and let their Vietnam veteran candidate continue to portray himself as a military hero.

Warning: News Analysis

There is a disturbing trend going on in some big American newspapers these days. It’s called “news analysis.” That’s when a reporter injects his/her opinion into what is supposed to be an objective-- repeat objective--reporting of the day’s news, thus requiring editors to stamp the piece “news analysis.”

9/11 Mastermind Confesses in Guantanamo

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the suspected mastermind of the Sept. 11 attacks, confessed to that attack and a string of others during a military hearing at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, according to a transcript released Wednesday by the Pentagon. Mohammed claimed responsibility for planning, financing, and training others for bombings ranging from the 1993 attack at the World Trade Center to the attempt by would-be shoe bomber Richard Reid to blow up a trans-Atlantic flight with explosives hidden in his shoes.
